Here are extracts from our conversation about the industry, the COVID-19 Pandemic and their plans for this year’s Movers And Storers Show.
A brief overview of Janus International Europe and an insight into your day to day role.
Janus International Europe is the leading global supplier of sustainable self storage solutions. We partner with self storage and removals companies across the UK, Europe and the world.
We’re also experts in facility automation and access control technology, offering the award-winning Noke Smart Entry system.
Since 1990, we’ve been determined to produce high quality products for our customers and setting the standard for superior manufacturing in the industry.
I’m responsible for developing our European sales strategy, plans, and targets. My main focus is meeting our customer requirements, building relationships with clients and overseeing our experienced sales team.
Have you always been in the industry sector? If not, where were you before, and what attracted you?
I started my career as a mechanical engineer apprentice at Imperial College London. Eventually this developed into a UK & Europe Sales Manager position in the aviation engineering sector.
Prior to working with Janus, I was heading the Sales team for a global components manufacturer.
How has your business changed or adapted following the global pandemic of 2020/21?
Our priority throughout the pandemic and beyond remains to provide our customers with the highest quality products and the best possible service. To achieve this, we improved our remote communication methods and implemented more digital systems in both the corporate office and our production centre of excellence.
What trends do you see emerging across the industry?
It’s very exciting to work in this fast-moving, entrepreneurial industry. I think there are three key trends currently:
- Access control automation
- Mixed-use developments
- A strong emphasis on environmental sustainability.
What do you see as the big challenge for the industry in the next three years?
If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that you never know what is around the corner. If I had to choose one challenge, it would be the expected increase in rates, be that energy, business or finance rates. They will all have an impact.
What will you be showcasing at the 2022 show, and why should visitors come and meet you?

We use them to communicate with our existing and potential customers, these channels are a great way of developing new business contacts and informing our customers about products and offers.
If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would you choose and why?
Nikola Tesla – I’m sure he had some good idea’s up his sleeve.

How do you relax outside of work?
Spending time with my family is number one. Outside of that I enjoy rugby, boxing and BBQing.
