Ian’s experience in the industry is built on a career spanning over 50 years and across many different roles both operational and managerial and he has also enjoyed a long involvement with the BAR, including being the Association’s elected President in 2012. In 2015 Ian applied to become Director General of the B.A.R, and having been appointed to that role, remains extremely enthused to have the opportunity to be even more involved in helping to shape the future of our industry in the UK’
Sarah Manning, Secure Store Nationwide
ABOUT SARAH
Sarah Manning is Managing Director of Secure Stores Nationwide, a shipping container sales and rental business specialising in the Self Storage industry.
Sarah has been in the container industry for the past 16 years, starting her career at Mr Box, which she ran and grew in to one of the largest market players. Mr Box was sold in 2016, and Sarah continued to work for the new owners for a further 4 years. In 2021 Sarah launched Secure Stores, which has experienced rapid growth. Secure Stores is run by Sarah and has a strong focus on customer service.
Rennie Schafer, Self Storage Association UK
ABOUT RENNIE
Rennie is the current CEO of the Self Storage Association UK and FEDESSA, having previously been the CEO of the Australasian Self Storage Association for over 9 years. Rennie has extensive knowledge of the self storage industry across the world, from the developing Asian markets through to the birthplace of self storage in the USA.
Rennie has an MBA from Deakin University as well as a Masters of Applied Science (Environmental Health).
Marlon Walters, TwentyCi
ABOUT MARLON
Marlon joined TwentyCi in 2021 and has since gone on to get a great understanding of the housing market both for consumers and also our clients – in the past he has worked for a small removals company and recently moved home so can definitely see things from both sides. Marlon’s background is predominantly Account Management focussed, so he has a great way with our clients in helping them to get the best results from their marketing. He also has experience with social media marketing and strategy. Marlon loves to travel to see as much of the world as possible, while indulging in the different cuisines too.

Matthew has a huge background as a sales and letting agent as well as property management and development, both in the UK and overseas. He’s won awards and been highlighted within corporate companies for his implementation of customer service, as well as his sales ability. Matthew is a fan of marketing and business development and joining TwentyCi in 2022 was the perfect next step in his career. Matthew loves to travel and is often found in his spare time climbing mountains and exploring nature.

Phil is an experienced Sales Manager with a strong background in the construction and self storage industries in the UK and USA. He is involved in self storage projects across the United Kingdom. Phil is based in Twickenham, UK.
Ant Hebblethwaite – Doncaster Security Operations Centre

Ant is the Sales Manager at Doncaster Security Operations Centre (DSOC). DSOC provide CCTV monitoring services and specialise in the Self Storage sector. Ant’s 16 years in the Security Industry have been spent across engineering, accounts and most recently, sales. Ant is also Chair of the Security Sector Forum for the SSA UK. Ant now account manages over 300 Self Storage facilities in the UK including Big Yellow, Storage King, Ready Steady Store and many more multi-site national and small independent operators. He brings security awareness, innovation, and supplier collaboration to his role. Since 2020 DSOC has grown not only in the Self Storage Sector but also nationally within the wider Fire and Security Industry.

He continues to provide writing and marketing consultancy services to the international relocation industry worldwide.
