Just over 3 weeks ago we opened the  doors for The Movers & Storers Show 2022 at the NAEC, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire for two full days of, learning, competing, networking, doing real business and sourcing new product, solutions and partners.

Following on from the 2021 show there was a lot of anticipation and excitement about this year, we are delighted to say no-one was disappointed! This years show saw a record number of exhibitors, with many companies returning and lots of new exhibitors too. From the moment the doors opened there was a steady stream of visitors from across the industry, resulting in almost 1,000 visitors.

The Show was busy from the moment we opened until we ushered the last visitor out on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitor demographic makes for really impressive reading.

“If you’re not here, you are basically missing out on the opportunity to talk to these industry decision makers from the movers and storage industry and shape them, and get the chance to get into the people who are making the decision about where they send their money”

Rennie Schafer – CEO – SSA UK

There is so much good stuff to report that it’s hard to know where to begin!

This year the show saw the return of Bespoke and SBR trucks to the show, ensuring that the six different bodybuilders displayed a large and broad range vehicles, including electric options from both Maxi Mover and Allports.

Just a few images of the incredible range of vehicles on display.

“First time at the show, always wanted to exhibit, it perfect for us its about being visible and meeting new and existing customers”

Luke Smith – Alloy Ramps by Aviramps Ltd

As with previous years ‘The Packer of the Year‘ competition ran across both days of the show this year. Entries for 2022 reached a new record high of 19 competitive teams. As with the past years the competition was as fierce as ever, particularly as everyone tried to take the crown away from the THREE times and reigning champions Easyshipping. In the end this year’s competition came down to the finest of margin, with Easyshipping triumphing once again. The question is can anybody take their crown in 2023?

As always a huge well done to everyone who took part, the competition was so closely though and our thanks to Andy, Darren and Jordan from Britannia Reeves for facilitating this popular part of the event and helping with the show generally.

Over in the ‘Seminar Theatre’ the focus was firmly on discussions and panel debates rather than single person presentations, and there was plenty of interaction from the audience. This year’s programme was again moderated, by Steve & David Jordan from The Mover Magazine and they successfully steered a host of industry experts through debates and discussion across a broad range of hot industry topic and issues.

Feedback on the days suggest this has been our best attended seminar program so we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the speakers who made time to share their knowledge, thoughts and experiences with us:

  • Matthew Iskandar & Marlon Walters – TwentyCi, Gavin Shields – Stora, Scott Bell – Backhouse Jones, Ian Studd- BAR, Caroline Seears – Red Recruit Global, Andrew Pearson – Andrew Pearson Training, Rennie Schafer – SSA UK, Joshua Webb – Calcumate, Menno Martens – Survey Plus Technology, Sarah Davie – Spartan FX, Lauwrens de Jong – Henneken NL,

If you missed any of the sessions or just wanted to revisit a topic we are delighted to say that we recorded all the sessions by video and these will be available very soon so you can view via the show website so please watch this space.

Overall, we welcomed almost 1,000 visitors to the show this year, we are sure, from their comments, they all went home feeling a little bit more knowledgeable, more connected and more inspired than before. We couldn’t deliver the show and all of these fantastic visitor features without the support of our exhibitors and our wonderful partners, so huge thank you to: MAXI MOVER and COMPARE MY MOVE, and JANUS Int EUROPE.

Also big thanks to our show team clothing partner ‘Clothes 2 Order‘.

We have far too many brilliant images to include here, so we’ll be setting up a gallery on our website and our Facebook page over the next few weeks.
