“Our first exhibition at the recent Movers & Storers Conference was very successful, and thank you for the opportunity to take part.

We met a number of people interested in our capabilities in self storage design, construction and management, and received over a dozen strongly positive enquiries.  Apart from the very successful business side of things, we met the friendliest bunch of people I can ever remember at a conference!”

This year saw the introduction of the ‘Innovation Trail’, a concept designed to cast a spotlight on what’s new and exciting in the removals and storage industry. The trail became a captivating journey of discovery, heightening the anticipation of attendees as they eagerly sought ground-breaking solutions that had the potential to revolutionize their approach to the trade with new products, process and cost efficiencies.

Among the standout contributors to the ‘Innovation Trail’ was ‘Britwrap’, showcasing their reusable range of unique packaging that emerged as a game-changer in the field. Their innovative solutions not only shield products from damage but also significantly slashed packaging costs, all while simplifying the manual handling of challenging items like mattresses, kitchen worktops, sofas, and white goods.  ‘Britwrap’s’ commitment to sustainability and efficiency shone through, aligning seamlessly with the evolving needs of the removals and storage sector. Furthermore, they unveiled their brand new and improved TV cover for moving and storage, adding another layer of practicality and protection for valuable electronics.

In the same innovative spirit, ‘Removals Manager’, long-term supporters of the show, took centre stage with their latest solution. Introducing a ground breaking feature for this year, they now provide SMS backup to any or all documents, quotes, and invoices sent out via their online software for clients to customers. This enhancement not only adds a professional touch to deliverability and exceeds customer expectations, but also streamlines the communication process, making it more efficient and seamless.  Additionally, ‘Removals Manager’ introduced a new field that allows online sign-off of jobs for clients by the team leader or supervisor in charge, enhancing the overall client experience and operational workflow.

It was such a brilliant event! The Movers & Storers Show just gets better and better!   The Janus crew had the best time! Thank you, Richard Pegler, ☂️Jan Denning and the The Movers & Storers Show team!!!

One of the standout features of the Movers and Storers Show was the broad, engaging, and interactive FREE seminar program. The theatre was packed on both days, a couple of highlights from the overall program included: Laura Moxham‘s insightful presentation on the power of Google Ads left an indelible mark, emphasizing the transformative impact that a well-executed online strategy can have on a business. The BIG debate delved deep into the core of our industry—our teams—questioning how a changing market demands a re-evaluation of our approach for sustainable growth.

The show organising team we would like to say a huge thank you to all those speakers who kindly gave their time to share their knowledge, insight and experience with the wider community, we as always are truly grateful. For those who couldn’t attend every session, or missed a session, the show offers you a silver lining; All sessions will be available online via the show website’s media library, very soon, so keep on eye on our website and social media platforms.

This commitment to accessibility ensures that the wealth of knowledge presented at the Movers and Storers Show reaches a global audience, fostering continuous learning beyond the event itself and demonstrates ‘The Movers and Storers Show’ passion and commitment to the industry.

The Movers & Storers Show was a great event this year and gave us a great opportunity to showcase the EasiLoader.

Once again the show played host to the much-anticipated ‘ The Packer of the Year’ competition, a thrilling spectacle that showcased the extraordinary packing prowess within the industry.  A Special thanks goes to the brilliant team at Britannia Reeves, who design and flawlessly execute the competition, and alongside the show organisers, were left astounded by the remarkable levels of entries, not only in quantity but also in the sheer quality of the packing displayed.

What seems like a simple challenge on paper—a wooden storage container, a towering pile of boxes, and export-wrapped furniture, all against the ticking of a stopwatch—transforms into a captivating display of skill, strategy, and precision. Each participating team faced the daunting task of fitting as much as possible into a 250 cubic foot storage container within a strict 15-minute timeframe, all while ensuring that no damage occurred during the packing process.

As the competition unfolded, the excitement reached a fever pitch, with the judges meticulously evaluating each team’s performance. The top three contenders emerged from the intense scrutiny, and it was heartening to see the competition reach its zenith with all three teams delivering an outstanding performance, making it an exceptionally tight race. However, for the fourth consecutive year, the ultimate crown went to Easy Shipping Ltd from Mitcham.

In Summary

The Movers and Storers Show 2023 set a new standard for industry events, uniting professionals in a shared vision of growth and excellence. The record-breaking visitor attendance stands as a testament to the event’s impact, solidifying its status as a pivotal moment in the ongoing evolution of removals and storage. If you missed this spectacular event, mark your calendar and marketing plans for the next one, 19th and 20th November 2024. It’s an experience that goes beyond the ordinary, leaving you with a renewed sense of purpose and a network of connections that will last a lifetime.

The organising team we would like to thank all our exhibitors, speakers, and partners for their support and a special thank you to our many supporting sponsors for their continued support; Britannia Reeves, Janus International, Maxi Mover, Compare My Move, Universal Storage Containers and The Mover Magazine.
